GE Healthcare Deep Purple Total Protein Stain

  • Rapid, ultra-high sensitivity fluorescent total protein stain.
  • Suitable for both protein gels and blots.
  • Low background fluorescence and no ""speckling"".
  • Very good compatibility with mass spectrometry, Edman sequencing, and Ettan DIGE system spot-picking workflow.
  • Environmentally friendly: Free from heavy metals, allowing safe disposal after use.
  • Compatible with both UVA transilluminators and industry standard fluorescence scanners.
  • Validated for use with the ECL Plex Fluorescent Western Blotting System.
  • Improved protocol for better signal-to-noise ratio and linearity.

Deep Purple Total Protein Stain* is an ultra-sensitive, rapid, and easy-to-use fluorescent stain for the detection of proteins in gels or blots following electrophoretic separation. Less than 0.5 ng protein per band can be detected in 1-D dilution series in gels and less than 1 ng protein per band when blotted onto nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes. Deep Purple Total Protein Stain is used to stain both 1-D and 2-D gels in backed and unbacked format, and has been shown to have high compatibility with mass spectrometry. Deep Purple Total Protein Stain is also used to stain proteins blotted onto nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes, and has been validated for use with the ECL Plex Western Blotting System. Because the stain is free from heavy metals, it can be safely disposed after use.

Deep Purple Total Protein Stain can be used with ultraviolet transillumination (365 nm), light boxes (400 to 500 nm), laser-based scanners (457, 488, or 532 nm excitation) and CCD cameras.

Deep Purple Total Protein Stain is available in standard and bulk pack sizes. The standard pack is sufficient for staining two large-format gels (e.g., large-format, DALT Gel 12.5 2-D gels) or 20 mini-gels. The bulk pack is sufficient for staining 10 large-format gels or 100 mini-gels.

GE Healthcare PlusOne Silver Staining Kit

PlusOne Silver Staining Kit, Protein and PlusOne DNA Silver Staining Kit are two silver staining kits that bring speed, convenience, and very high sensitivity to the staining of proteins and nucleic acids in polyacrylamide electrophoresis. gels.

  • Based on the methodology of Heukeshoven and Dernick, the kit gives essentially colorless backgrounds in most gel electrophoresis systems.
  • Silver Staining Kit, Protein provides convenient, reproducible and sensitive staining of proteins in polyacrylamide gels .including PhastGels in less than two hours
  • The visualisation technique detects most proteins in the nanogram range, which is 100-fold more sensitive than Coomassie Blue staining.
  • Typical sensitivity is 0.2 to 0.6 ng protein/band.
  • Use with 2-D electrophoresis and mass spectrometry by omitting glutaraldehyde from staining procedure.

Silver Staining Kit, Protein includes detailed protocols and components in quantities sufficient to stain 10 DALT precast gels, 10 precast 12.5 x 26 cm gels, 20 mini slab gels (8–10 x 8 cm), or 30 to 60 PhastGels. It can also be used with the Processor Plus.

The kit contains the following components: sodium acetate, 5% sodium thiosulfate, EDTA-Na2, sodium carbonate, 2.5% silver nitrate, 37% formaldehyde, and 25% glutaraldehyde.

GE Healthcare PlusOne Coomassie Tablets, PhastGel Blue R-350

PhastGel Blue R tablets are a readily soluble, premeasured means of preparing Coomassie Blue R-350 solutions. PhastGel Blue R-350 is more sensitive than the commercially available R-150 and R-250 forms and can detect most proteins at 50–100 ng/band. One tablet makes 400 ml of a 0.1% staining solution.
