SLS are pleased to launch its new Service Centre for Laboratory Equipment, based at its Nottingham Distribution Centre. Offering a nationwide service with fully trained and authorised service engineers covering many laboratory equipment products, our aim is to provide a flexible service through a variety of packages that meets the needs of customers:

Our capabilities extend to most routine laboratory equipment including fridges and freezers, incubators, shakers, centrifuges, stirrers (inc. hotplate stirrers), media prep equipment, routine microscopes, ovens, autoclaves, safety cabinets, spectrophotometers, pH and conductivity meters, homogenisers........

Service options available include:

  • Fixed Cost Drop Box Service. Offering ultimate flexibility for customers at a fixed cost, the Drop Box model is based around the provision of a sturdy and sealable box in which items of equipment can be placed. Once full and sealed, we will collect the box, investigate and repair any faults and return the repaired equipment back to the customer in the same box ready for re-use - and all for a fixed cost per box which includes labour and carriage but excludes any replacement parts. Five box options are available each offering different box sizes and differing costs:

    • Box 1 at £25 (includes first ½ hour of labour), dimensions (H x W x L) 190mm x 143mm x 120mm, 3L capacity
    • Box 2 at £35 (includes first ½ hour of labour), dimensions (H x W x L) 335mm x 210mm x 140mm, 9L capacity
    • Box 3 at £60 (includes first hour of labour), dimensions (H x W x L) 315mm x 205mm x 310mm, 19L capacity
    • Box 4 at £85 (includes first hour of labour), dimensions (H x W x L) 370mm x 310mm x 280mm, 35L capacity
    • Box 5 at £120 (includes first hour of labour), dimensions (H x W x L) 605mm x 370mm x 280mm, 64L capacity

  • On site repairs. For customers who don’t want to use the Drop Box approach, we offer an onsite service where fully trained service engineers will come on site and repair any faulty equipment; typically we anticipate a 90% one visit success rate.   • Annual Contracts. For critical equipment where you need confidence that it will continue to operate effectively, we offer an annual contract model which covers a routine servicing programme along with an emergency call out service to repair any faulty equipment.   • Pipette servicing Through Kinesis, we are able to offer an extensive number of pipette servicing options for all pipette brands up to and including UKAS accreditation where this is required.
